Dr. Savage expounds on Pope St. John Paul II’s understanding of the meaning of human work in his encyclical Laborem Exercens. Dr. Savage’s method of doing so is to illuminate how his understanding of human work provides the basis for his more comprehensive account of the exigencies of human life. Dr. Savage’s aim is to establish some critical parameters for establishing a Catholic response to the question “How can we live in peace secured by justice?”
